Arnold hails from Springs, Gauteng, South Africa. That’s where he was born and schooled and he even made his debut there in journalism – he first delivered the Springs Advertiser as a schoolboy before writing for the paper as a sports journalist in 1983.

Arnold has been broadcasting since 1984 when he hit the airwaves for Radio 5 and Springbok Radio. His television debut came in the same year when he first appeared as the television sports news anchor during the News at Eight: in English and Afrikaans!

This versatile wordsmith has been there ever since, anchoring test rugby, the golf majors, five Olympic Games and million rand fund raising events, through to the Comrades Marathon – a true marathon eleven hour live broadcast - where the anchor is required to link live on-camera, commentate and co-ordinate on-air information.

He has hosted Treasure Hunt/Skattejag, game shows, Ithuba million giveaways and the introduction of VAT in South Africa. For these shows Arnold did more than 800 interviews in just nine days. He is Super Sport’s - a world leading sports brand and broadcaster - most established presenter. And before you ask: they don’t use scripts on-air at all, but rely purely on their slick ad-libbing skills, massive knowledge and passion for sport to capture viewers.

He has had the privilege of interviewing living legends such as Gary Player, Lance Armstrong, Jack Nicklaus, Olympic gold medallists Kelly Holmes and Linford Christie as well as many more. Prominent leaders and celebrities that he has pointed a microphone at includes Nelson Mandela, Arnold Scwarzenegger, actor Morgan Freeman, entrepreneur Richard Branson, singer Chris Rea, cricket’s Richie Benaud, Sir Don Bradman, Sunil Gavaskar and Shane Warne as well as SA Presidents, FW de Klerk & Thabo Mbeki.

A keen golfer, Geerdts is currently a 10 handicapper, but says he often uses his short game to spectacular effect – off the tee! He has run more than 160 marathons and ultra marathons, has a 42.2-kilometer marathon best of 2 hours and 29 minutes (which ranked him in the top 100 in SA) and has completed nine Comrades Marathons.

This fully bilingual and sought after Master of Ceremonies, after dinner speaker, sports commentator, game show host, television anchor, radio presenter, motivational speaker, producer, writer and voice-over artist is a two-time winner of the prestigious SAB Sports Journalist of the Year Merit Award. He lists his broadcasting highlights as his Comrades Marathon telecasts, the Barcelona Olympics, the Australian cricket tour of 93/94, more than 100 rugby internationals, 550 Super 14 matches and more than 70 golf majors. He has been Super Sport’s studio anchor for the Tour de France for six years and is a senior correspondent for the news channel Super Sport Blitz.

He has anchored, commentated, scripted and produced many other sports such as motor racing: track, rallying and off road, triathlon, adventure sports, track and field, tennis, boxing and even wheelchair basketball and tennis.

This passionate sports lover is a true all rounder and lives, eats and breathes sport…whichever discipline it may be!

Arnold is married to his beloved Lily and has two sons, Corbin, 21, Kinah 11 and daughter, Lileah 2. He runs more than 100 kilometers per week, gyms regularly and after 27 years in the business, is a highly respected member of the South African and African sporting community! President Nelson Mandela confirmed this when he signed Arnold’s copy of his book “Long Walk to Freedom” like this: “To Arnold, Best wishes to an outstanding sports official. N. Mandela.”

Hlubi Mboya is most probably best known for her role as Nandipha in the successful SABC 3 soapie, Isidingo. Not only did this soapie make her an instant household name in South Africa, but also enabled her to travel throughout Africa to places such as Tanzania and Zambia as a HIV/AIDS ambassador. Her most important representation was at the Tshwane University where she spoke about the future global impact of HIV on the youth. She has also broached this subject on radio stations such as Umhlobo Wenene, Yfm, 702, 5fm and Metro. “Nandipha has opened doors for me. I have become a role model, educator, agony aunt and a nurse. In fact I have become involved in many levels of HIV/AIDS through my role.”

Hlubi made her acting debut in Isidingo in 2000. “I love what I do. Originally I studied 3rd world politics and world labor law at UCT. Now I see myself as a lawyer and politician in my art.”

Hlubi has appeared on the covers of South Africa’s foremost magazines: “I like the fact that magazines consider and associate me, to glamour. “ At some point, I was on the cover of 3 magazines in the same month.” She is the proudest of her Elle cover, as she was the first black women (nonmodel) to grace its glossy front page.

Hlubi has recently added a feature film behind her name. She has just completed a Kung Fu movie. Shogun Khumalo is dying, (by DC studios) it was directed, written, and produced entirely by South Africans. “It was directed, written and produced entirely by South Africans. “It was wonderful to be part of a movement in movies that involved martial arts, especially in South Africa.”
